Entangle q0 with q2 — half the shots reading |000⟩ and half |101⟩, with q1 left clean at |0⟩. The catch is the hardware story: on this imaginary device only NEIGHBOURING qubits are connected, so a two-qubit gate may act on q0-q1 or q1-q2 but never directly on q0-q2.
