The deal, in plain language

Qubit16 is an online quantum computing learning platform operated by Qubit16: a course, interactive visualizations, a circuit simulator, an AI tutor, graded challenges and exams, and optional access to real quantum hardware. By using it you agree to these terms. If you are using it on behalf of an institution, you confirm you may bind that institution.

The Quantum Foundations course, every visualization, the simulator and the challenges are free, with or without an account, for as long as we run the service. During the launch period, every new account receives the Pro tier free for 30 days from sign-up, with no card and nothing to cancel; when it ends, the account continues on the Free tier and nothing you made is deleted.

If paid plans are enabled, prices, limits and renewal terms are those shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Subscriptions renew until cancelled and remain active to the end of the paid period after cancellation.

You sign in by a link emailed to you. Keep access to that mailbox secure; a link is single-use and expires. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time by emailing hello@qubit16.ai.

• Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, plan limits or the exam integrity measures.
• Do not use the AI tutor or the instructor co-pilot to generate content that is unlawful or that harasses others; the tutor is for learning quantum computing.
• Do not submit circuits to real hardware that you know are designed to waste provider capacity, and do not share provider credentials.
• Do not scrape the service or resell access to it. Embedding the circuit widget on your own pages under the documented protocol is welcome.

Hardware jobs run on third-party quantum processors (currently IBM Quantum and Amazon Braket) subject to those providers’ availability, queues and terms. Each plan includes a monthly job quota; jobs beyond it are refused rather than billed. Results from real devices are noisy by nature and are provided as returned by the provider.

Certification exams are graded automatically against a question bank and produce a certificate with a public verification page. A Qubit16 certificate records that the named person passed that exam on that date. It is not an accredited academic qualification and does not claim to be one.

The application is open source under the MIT licence; the course text, questions and visualizations are ours or our contributors’ and are provided for personal and classroom learning. Circuits you build are yours. By making a circuit public you allow others to view and copy it.

The AI tutor’s answers are generated by a language model and may be wrong. Where it runs a circuit to check itself it shows you the numbers; treat everything else as a starting point, not an authority.

The service is provided as is. We aim for it to be available and correct, we publish its source so you can check, and we do not warrant either. To the extent the law allows, Qubit16 is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, and its total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We may change the service and these terms; material changes are dated on this page and, for account holders, announced in the app. We may suspend accounts that breach the acceptable-use section. Questions or notices: hello@qubit16.ai.
